The Omaha community is struggling to process the sudden and tragic loss of Maria Sheridan, who passed away following an automobile accident on Sunday, February 1, 2026. A vibrant entrepreneur and a fiercely dedicated mother, Maria’s death at just 27 years old has left a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many lives she touched through her business and advocacy.
A Life of Ambition and Independence
Born in December 1998, Maria was a lifelong resident of the region and had established her home in Omaha in 2019. She was a woman of remarkable drive, launching her first business, Detailed Perfection, in January 2019. For seven years, she built a reputation for excellence and meticulous care. Most recently, she expanded her entrepreneurial reach by founding Fresh Start Cleaning in October 2024.
Friends remember Maria not only for her professional success but for her inner strength. She was a woman who “taught others to stand up for themselves” and provided unwavering support to her inner circle during their toughest moments. Her life was defined by a rare combination of grit and grace.
A Devoted “Boy Mom” and Partner
Above all her professional achievements, Maria’s greatest pride was her role as a mother. A proud and loving “boy mom” to her two young sons, she was dedicated to building a bright future for them. Since September 11, 2022, she shared a deep and loving partnership with Mike Roberts, with whom she shared a life full of promise and affection.
Family and Community Heartbreak
The loss is particularly devastating for her father and “best friend,” William (Bill) Sheridan. The family is now navigating the unimaginable pain of a second tragic vehicle accident within their kin, a burden that aunt Becky Sheridan Rasmussen described as a “sheer heartbreak” that words cannot fully express.
Maria will be remembered as a beautiful, vibrant soul who was taken far too soon. Her legacy lives on through her two young sons and the business community she helped build in Omaha.
Community Support
A GoFundMe has been established by her aunt, Becky Sheridan Rasmussen, to assist William Sheridan with the funeral and burial expenses to lay Maria to rest with the dignity she deserves. The family asks for continued prayers and support as they navigate this dark season.
